Bombs away!

Everyone responds differently in a bomb shelter.

Some get calm, some go into caretaker roles. Some crack jokes. Every child is different.

My 10 year old had her first anxiety attack. She started telling me the things she remembered from 2014 - the last time we ran to the bomb shelter, she was not even 4, I had no idea she remembered how we tried to stay safe back then.

I’m a trauma responder so I have a few tricks up my sleeve - but it’s hard to calm your own child down, when she has every right to panic.

It’s hard to answer your 7 year old when she wants to know if the rockets are finished.

There is no school tomorrow. I’ve cancelled work.

We take care of our kids. We don’t hide behind them and shoot rockets like they are doing in Gaza.

I never do politics - but tonight I’m enraged. I can’t watch international news. The lies are beyond gross. Beyond insulting.

I am a proud and passionate Jew and Israeli.
